1999 Chevrolet Front Driver Side View

LIFTED LATE MODEL
Jim Hestily of Tulare, California, wasted no time in lifting his '99 Chevy and hitting the trails. First to go on was a 4-inch Rancho lift, and that was followed by a 3-inch body lift. The new height made room for 35x13.50 Baja Claws on 16x10 Eagles. A K&N filter along with a Hypertech Power chip was then installed to make the Chevy a bit faster. Finally, a Vortex muffler was put into place to make it sound better.

DESERT DWELLER
Living in Tucson, Arizona, gives David Peterson plenty of opportunity to 'wheel his '61 CJ-5. Powering the Jeep is a swapped-in Chevy 350 followed by a swapped-in NV4500. The stock Spicer 18 transfer case still handles splitting power to the original axles. Skyjacker springs raise the CJ 2 1/2-inches and supply more flex. Tires are 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler MTRs on 15x10 steel chromes. A venerable Warn 8274 handles winching duties for the occasional stuck.

HEAVY CHEVY
Gretchen Burgess likes to get out and explore around her hometown of Hooksett, New Hampshire, in her '85 Chevy whenever she gets a chance. Powering the Chevy is the stock 350 backed up by a TH 400 and NP208 combo. Axles out of a 3/4-ton were swapped in to add some extra beef. Finally, a 6-inch Rancho lift was used to clear the 35-inch Thornbirds on Western wheels.

 1980 K10 Driver Side View

TEXAS TRUCK
A tough Texas truck comes to us in the form of this '80 K10 piloted by Aaron Baker of Pampa. A 4-inch Superlift suspension was used to make room for the 35-inch Boggers on 15x12 steel rims. Next, the stock 305 was ditched in favor of a 350 V-8 and equipped with a Crane Cam, flat-top pistons, and Edelbrock performer intake. A built TH 350 backs up the V-8 that then feeds power to an NP208. Somehow surviving the horsepower are 10-bolts equipped with a spool in the rear and a Lock Right up front.

TOUGH TJ
Colby Green, of Marietta, GA, likes to hit the trails down South in his '00 Wrangler Sport whenever he gets the chance. Flex and lift are supplied by a Rubicon Express 4 1/2-inch lift that clears 35-inch BFG All Terrains on Eagle 589s. Helping to spin the BFGs are 4.56 gears and smoothing out the ride is a set of RS 9000 shocks. A Garmin GPS unit keeps the TJ from getting lost while a complement of Hella 2000s light the way on night runs. Should the TJ ever get stuck, a Warn XD9000i is ready to supply extraction.

1979 Ford Bronco Driver Side View

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN'
Living in San Carlos, California, gives Scott Briggs plenty of opportunity to go 'wheeling and his '79 Bronco is well set-up for his off-road adventures. A Superlift 6-inch lift makes room for 35-inch BFG Mud Terrains on 15x8 steel wheels. The Dana 44 front is outfitted with a Detroit Truetrac while a Ford 9-inch and a Detroit Locker works out back. Both axles are equipped with 4.56 gears which, when combined with the NP435 tranny, give the big Bronco a respectable crawl ratio.

1991 GMC Sierra Front Driver Side View

TEXAS BIG
Texas is a big state and we see plenty of big trucks coming out of it. One of these is this '91 GMC Sierra that belongs to Michael Kennedy of Quitman, Texas. A major boost in altitude was supplied by a 6-inch Superlift suspension along with a 3-inch body lift. Next came 38-inch Swampers on 15x10 American Eagle 589s. The stock 350 was rebuilt and received some help from a K&N air filter and full Gibson exhaust.

1982 Ford F 350 Front Driver Side View

BIG WHEELER
Tammy Mullins of Pikeville, Kentucky, laid claim to her husband's '82 Ford F350 and immediately went about rebuilding it. The first step was to replace most of the thrashed sheetmetal and lay down a new coat of white paint. Next came a 6-inch Skyjacker lift to clear the 39-inch Mickeys on 16.5x9.75 American Racing wheels. The 400 V-8 internals were left stock but treated to an Edelbrock carb and intake manifold. Future plans include enough lift to run 44s.
