Big Bronco
Robbie Simmons, of Cowan, Tennessee, owns this fine example of a '79 Ford Bronco. A stock 400 V-8 sends power to a C6 three-speed automatic mated to an NP203 transfer case. The stock Dana 44 front and 9-inch rear are suspended by a Rough Country 4-inch lift. Tires are 35x15.50-inch Super Swampers on 15x12 Rock Crawler wheels. Robbie then built a tube bumper to carry an 8,000-pound Warn winch.
Desert Scout
Shane Hurd of Phoenix, Arizona, is the proud owner of this '61 International Scout 80. Under the hood is a mighty four-cylinder engine that is linked to a T-90 three-speed manual. Dana 27 axles are found in both the front and the rear. A 6-inch lift spring-over was performed to help make way for the 33-inch Dakota All Terrains on 15x10 American Racing wheels. A new interior and fresh coat of paint top things off.
NEW-CAR SMELL
Tommy Hulbert Jr. of Curtis, Washington, wasted no time modifying his '01 Chevy Z71. A 6-inch Fabtech suspension lift was the first major item to go on. This was followed by a 3-inch body lift to help clear a set of 37x13-inch Boggers mounted on 16x10 Ultra aluminum wheels. A set of Warn fender flares were put into position to keep the Washington mud off the truck. Finally, a Helix intake spacer plate was added to boost output.
