California Cherokee
Sven Schlogl of Woodland Hills, California, is the proud owner of this '94 Jeep Cherokee Sport. The stock 4.0L HO inline-six engine is backed up by a stock transmission and transfer case. For suspension the Cherokee uses a 3-inch Pro Comp suspension kit in the front and a 3-inch Rancho kit out back. Enough clearance was made for 31-inch mud terrain tires on steel wheels. A Detroit Truetrac provides traction in the rear Dana 44 while the front diff is open. Other features include a Con-Ferr roof rack fitted with a host of Pro Comp lights.
Texas TJ
Jason Janak of Port Laraca, Texas, started modifying his '98 TJ as soon as he got it. The first mod was a 4-inch Skyjacker Double Flex suspension system to provide lift and flex. This made enough clearance for the 35x15.50 Super Swamper SXs on 15x10 Eagle 589 aluminum wheels. Other modifications include a custom-built rear bumper with a spare-tire rack. A Rockford Fosgate sound system provides the tunes. Jason informs us that he is just at the start of his buildup and intends to make his TJ a highly capable trail rig.
Goo Getter
Aaron Taylor of Ovid, Michigan, built his truck for some serious mudding action. The foundation for the rig is a '78 Chevy Blazer. The stout drivetrain consists of a built big-block V-8 coupled to a TH350 automatic followed by an NP205 transfer case. A 6-inch lift from Skyjacker was used to suspend the front and rear Dana 60s equipped with 5.86 gears. The tires are 44-inch Boggers. Aaron's creation was topped off with a body from a '90 Chevy S-10.
Pathfinding Pathfinder
Richard Julao built his '94 Nissan Pathfinder to be able to explore the trails around his hometown of Lake Forest, California. A Rancho suspension system was installed for a little extra height and to help clear the 32x11.50 BFGoodrich Mud T/As on the factory 15x7 wheels. To help get traction, an ARB Air Locker was installed in the rear. When a stuck occurs, a Warn XD 9000i winch mounted on an ARB front bumper comes in handy. To help the V-6 move the 'Finder a little quicker, a K&N air-filter kit, along with a Jacobs ignition, were installed.
Red Ram
Coming out of Davenport, Iowa are Scott Ammons and his '97 Dodge Ram 1500. To get some extra height, a 5-inch Skyjacker lift kit and 3-inch body lift were put into place. Hydro shocks, also from Skyjacker, were used to control suspension gyrations. The new suspension makes room for 35-inch BF Goodrich All Terrains on 15x10 Cragar aluminum wheels. To make it easier to get into the Ram, a set of Smittybilt Sure Step bars were installed, while a sunroof and CD player make the interior more enjoyable.
Mighty Mazda
Maple Hill, North Carolina resident Vanessa Jennings bought this '97 Mazda B2300 so she could hit the trails with her husband. Suspension comes in the form of a 5-inch Explorer Pro Comp lift kit. Further lift is supplied by a 3-inch body lift that clears the 33-inch tires on Weld Racing aluminum wheels. A set of 4.10 gears was installed to turn the tires. Aiding the engine is a 75mm throttle body, K&N filter kit and an upgraded computer chip.
