JEEP TRUCK
It is not often we see Comanches out on the trail, so it was nice to get a picture of Larry Meade's '92 model running the trails around his hometown of Youngsville, Louisiana. Suspension consists of 3-inch-longer coils in the front along with 1 1/2-inch spacers and a spring-over in the rear. This modest lift provided enough room for 31-inch BFGoodrich All Terrains on steel 15x8 wheels. A homebuilt bumper protects the front sheetmetal, and houses a 4500-series Super Winch. The 4.0L was juiced with a header, custom exhaust system and a K&N air filter.
OLD BUT NOT TIRED
Mark Murray of Atlantic, Pennsylvania, says that his '79 Ford F-250 has 450,000 miles on it but is still running strong. Under the hood is a 400ci V-8 that is backed up by a C6 tranny and an NP205 transfer case. A 6-inch suspension lift was used, along with a 3-inch body lift. This combo provides enough clearance for 39.5-inch Super Swampers on Mickey Thompson Classic II aluminum wheels. Other doodads include a Ramsey 9500 Platinum winch along with a triple lightbar.
COLORADO TOY
Living in Morrison, Colorado gives Doug Rougier plenty of opportunities to 'wheel in his '02 Toyota Tacoma. Making running the trails a little easier is a Northwest Off Road 3-inch coil lift that clears 305/70R16 Pro Comp Mud Terrains on American Racing Atlas wheels. Horsepower-adding goodies include a K&N air filter, a Helix throttle-body spacer, and Magnaflow exhaust. A Safari lightbar rests up front with two off-road lights for extra candlepower. The tonneau cover is by Covercraft.
GEORGIA PEACH
Walter Mckinis of Richmond Hill, Georgia sent us this picture of his cool '78 Ford F-150. All that lift comes from a 9-inch Skyjacker lift along with Skyjacker shocks. Tires are 40-inch Ground Hawgs wrapped around 15x14 aluminum wheels. Powering the beast is a 351M V-8 that has been equipped with a Holley 750 carb and Hedman headers. The rest of the drivetrain remains stock.
