HIGH-FLYING CHEVY
We couldn't resist running a photo of Washougal, Washington resident Craig Marshall's '53 Chevy pickup. It rests on a '70 Blazer frame and features a slightly built Chevy 350 V-8 along with a modified TH350 tranny. Backing that up is an NP205 transfer case that sends power to a Dana 44 front axle and a 12-bolt rear axle. For traction, a set of Desert Dog tires are used on steel wheels. Craig loves to tackle tough courses, mud drags and any other form of racing in his cool truck.
DAKOTA
Jay Ruchotzke of Manitoba, Canada owns this cool '99 Dodge Dakota. Helping it plow through the snow are 33-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrains on 15-inch wheels. To help the sheetmetal clear the bigger tires, a 3-inch body lift was put into place. Powering the Dakota is a 318 Magnum V-8 backed by the stock transmission and transfer case. Four 100-watt lights were put up top to help light up those dark stormy nights. Big plans for the future include 38-inch tires and a solid front axle.
OHIO TJ
Dan Stidham from Springfield, Ohio likes to explore the backcountry in his '00 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Making exploration a bit easier is a 4-inch Rough Country lift. It helps to make way for 33-inch BFG Mud-Terrains on 15x10 Eagle alloys. Quadratec bumpers and rocker guards are used to protect the Jeep's body and light guards are used to shield its eyes. KC lights were thrown up front to light up the Ohio backcountry.
BIG RED
Flying high around Marshall, Texas is Mark Busby and his '92 Ford F-350 Crew Cab. The lift comes from a 6-inch Skyjacker lift along with a 3-inch body lift. The interesting tire-and-wheel combo consists of Cooper 11R tires on 24.5-inch Alcoa aluminum wheels. More horsepower comes from a turned-up fuel pump on the 7.3L diesel V-8, aided by a 3-inch exhaust system. Triple shocks are used up front to help control the massive tires, along with dual steering stabilizers.
