FIRE & ICE
Starting with a stock '89 4Runner, Dan Putrain of Albany, Vermont wanted his daily driver to stand out from the crowd. Dan installed a 6-inch Skyjacker lift and a 2-inch body lift so he could clear 35x12.50x15 BFG AT/KOs on American Racing rims. To spin these tires Dan helped the 22RE engine out by adding a Comp Cam, Jet chip, Hedman Hedders, Accel ignition, K&N cold-air kit and a Centerforce clutch. For added traction, he added Lock-Rights front and rear, and also a ladder bar to help control axlewrap. Finally, he added a multimount Warn 10,000-pound winch, just in case he needs additional help getting unstuck.
INDIANA CHEVY
Steve Nalley of Franklin, Indiana owns this fine example of a 2000 Chevy Silverado. The long list of modifications starts with a 6-inch Pro Comp lift along with a 3-inch body lift. Enough room was made for 37-inch Super Swamper tires on 16x12 Weld Racing wheels. Under the hood the 5.3L V-8 has been equipped with Gibson headers, an Airmax intake system and a Hypertech programmer. A roll bar and a pushbar were bolted onto the big Chevy, along with lots of PIAA lights.
THE RUBICON OF INDIANA
Shawn Nichols, of Bloomington Indiana, sent us this picture of his '03 Wrangler Rubicon in action. The only modifications he's made to a very trailworthy stocker so far include a K&N air filter and Warn 9.5ti winch. Having 'wheeled this Jeep on trails in Southern Colorado and muddy Indiana, Shawn sees no reason to change it. We'll see how long that lasts.
