A Sweet Looking K-5

1969 Chevy K5 Blazer Passenger Side View

Owner/Hometown: Jim Schrader/unknown
What it is: '69 Chevy K5 Blazer
The dirt: It's really a shame that Jim didn't get a decent picture of this rig in the dirt. We can only hope he actually does get it dirty from time to time.
Oh, and ...: Jim swapped in a fuel-injected 454 out of a '99 3/4-ton pickup and included the wiring harness and steering column. Underneath, there's a pair of 3/4-ton axles with four-wheel disc brakes, an 8-inch lift, and 38-inch Nitto Mud Grapplers on 20-inch Weld Pro-Loc 8s.

Back Lot 1/2-Ton

1986 Chevy 4X4 Drivers Side View

Owner/Hometown: Jason Sparwood, Jr./Alberta, Canada
What it is: '86 Chevy 4x4
The dirt: We never seem to get enough of these. Come on, Jason, at least take it out in the field away from the house.
Oh, and ...: A stout 454 feeds a beefed TH350 tranny and NP203 transfer case. A 12-inch Superlift Swamp Runner lift kit and 3-inch body lift help clear a set of 38-inch Mickey Thompson MTZ tires on Eagle Alloys.

Cool Rig, Bad Photo

1982 Chevy Scottsdale Half Ton Front View

Owner/Hometown: Judd Matheny/Roseburg, Oregon
What it is: '82 Chevy Scottsdale 1/2-ton
The dirt: When it comes to usable images, it doesn't get much worse than this one. Poorly lit, cut off, with a date stamp in the corner. All we can say is, wow, Judd's lucky we're running this section on pavement pounders.
Oh, and ...: A 377 small-block feeds a TH350 transmission and 203 transfer case before a Dana 44 and 12-bolt divide up power amongst a set of 35-inch Toyo Open Country MTs. Judd says his army of KC lights are very good for late-night mud runs.

Jambo Special

1995 Toyota 4Runner Front Drivers Side View

Owner/Hometown: Nathan Fleming/unknown
What it is: '95 Toyota 4Runner
The dirt: We'd be willing to bet this rig can be found at some of the many truck Jamborees across the nation each summer. It simply has that Jambo look to it.
Oh, and ...: Complete with a solid front axle, this 383-powered rig has all the right equipment for good times in the mud. However, Nathan didn't feel like getting it dirty for our magazine. Twelve inches of suspension lift plus a 3-inch body lift make room for 39-inch Super Swampers on Mickey Thompson wheels.

Down-N-Not So Dirty

1985 GMC Truck Drivers Side View

Owner/Hometown: Linda Updegraff/Moberly, Missouri
What it is: '85 GMC
The dirt: Here is another perfect example of a truck that would totally make a sweet Readers' Rig, but the photo just doesn't do it justice.
Oh, and ...: Powered by a built 454 with TH350 transmission and NP208 transfer case, this mud truck has a winning combo. A 6-inch Trail Master suspension lift and a 3-inch body lift help clear 35-inch Boggers. A 14-bolt rear axle is loaded with 4.10:1 gearing, and a 10-bolt front axle with like gearing lives up front.

Dan's Front Yard

1979 Jeep Cj5 Passenger Side View

Owner/Hometown: Dan H/unknown
What it is: '79 CJ-5
The dirt: You got to love it when readers simply shoot a rig in their front yard ...
Oh, and ...: Dan has a Chevy small-block hooked to a TH400 automatic, 33-inch tires, and a 4-inch spring-over lift. Now if he could just leave the house long enough to snap a good photo.

New to the Game

2002 GMC Sierra Passenger Side View

Owner/Hometown: Wes Dede/Bedford, Texas
What it is: '02 GMC Sierra
The dirt: Wes is just getting started on this rig. At 16 years of age, we won't bash him for sending in a pavement photo. However, the next time we see this rig, it better be dirty ...
Oh, and ...: Wes installed a Pro Comp 6-inch lift topped off with 20x9-inch Pro Comp 6001 series wheels and 35-inch Pro Comp Xtreme All-Terrain tires. There is also a custom exhaust system put in by Kinney's Muffler Shop.

Rocky Mountain Special

 2007 Chevy 3 4 Ton Front View

Owner/Hometown: Todd Wagner/New Castle, Colorado
What it is: '07 Chevy 3/4-ton
The dirt: Todd says he wants to make this truck the baddest this side of the Rockies. We say, why not shoot a picture of it in the Rockies? It might be pretty cool then.
Oh, and ...: This rig is powered by a LBZ Duramax pushing upwards of 700 lb-ft of torque. A 6-inch Fabtech suspension lift was custom powdercoated prior to installation. A pair of Nfab sidebars protect the rockers and help Todd's lady friend get in for nights out on the town.
