Little Flexi
This '88 Suzuki Samurai is owned by Colin Buchanan has just enough muscle (65 hp) to crawl up whatever Colin attempts. Sprung-over with a total of 8 inches of lift, this little Sammy is perfect for weekend trips to the mountains. It sports 5.12 gearing and a high-steer setup. With 33-inch Pro Comp tires on a set of Pro Comp Rock Crawler rims it has a sweet traction-to-weight ratio.
Potent SJ
Fred Greenwood of Pueblo,Colorado, owns this '79 Jeep Cherokee. Fred built custom rock sliders on each side that wrap around the rear. He also fabbed up a front bumper on his own. A built AMC 360 features a 401 torquer cam and Motor Craft 4350 4BBl carburetor. A K&N air filter helps the big engine breathe and a 2 1/2-inch dual exhaust system helps expel the stinky. A Blue Streak high-performance ECU and ACCEL coil manage the spark, while a TH400 automatic transmission and Quadratrac transfer case manage the torque. Fred installed a MileMarker part-time 4WD conversion and Warn Premium hubs. Both axles are Dana 44s with 4.56 gears and Detroit Lockers. For suspension, Fred did a spring-over conversion up front with Rusty's 4-inch lift springs. Out back, a custom shackle flip accommodates another set of Rusty's 4-inch springs and Pro Comp ES 3000 shocks. For traction Fred went with a set of 34-inch Interco LTBs.
Catalog Krawler
Bob Jara of Glenmoore, Pennsylvania, sent in this shot of his '94 Jeep Wrangler. Bob is no stranger to the world of 4x4s, as he is the guy who designs all the catalogs for Quadratec. Bob's YJ features a high-output 4.0L engine from Cherokee, an AW4 automatic transmission, and a stock transfer case. Lift comes from a Fabtech 8-inch Crawler kit, which makes plenty of room for 35-inch Mickey Thompson MTZs mounted to 15-inch Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels. Up front there is a Warn bumper with a Warn xd9000i winch and synthetic rope. The OR Fab front Sport Cage protects occupants, while a pair of Mastercraft Rubicon seats provide comfort. The stout rear bumper is an OR Fab swing-away tire carrier. The stock axles are upgraded as well; a Dana 30 front features 30-spline Superior shafts, an ARB Air Locker, and 4.88:1 gearing. The rear Dana 35 also sports 30-spline Superior shafts, an ARB, and 4.88s.
FD TJ
Gregory Pasqua of San Juan Capistrano, California, drives this sweet '04 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. When he's not out fighting fires for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, he can be found negotiating the trails of the Southwest. Sitting on 30-inch Goodyear MT/Rs and stock wheels, Gregory only added a 1 1/2-inch lift to compensate for the Warn winch up front. He also added Bilstein Shocks, ARB Air Lockers front and rear, and 30-spline chromoly Superior axles up front. For more oomph, Greg swapped in an AEM Brute Force air intake and Borla after-cat exhaust.
Tonka Truck
Young Justin Gable from Chapin, South Carolina, wheels this '91 Toyota pickup. It sports a Rancho 5-inch lift kit and a 3-inch body lift. Together that combo easily clears 33-inch Super Swamper SSRs on Mickey Thompson Classic Locks. He's 18 years old and we bet Justin's buddies are all jealous of his cool toy.
