The new 217hp all-aluminum 4.6L OHV V-8 engine is most definitely an improvement over the 187hp 4.0L V-8 of the previous generation Discovery. While not neck-snapping, it generates more than adequate power to pull the 4,630-pound vehicle. It's mated to a ZF four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. View Related Article
