Four-wheel-drive Durangos can be had with either an NV144 all-wheel-drive transfer case or a NV244 four-wheel-drive 'case with low range. If you select the NV244 you'll get a dash-mounted knob to select the transfer-case settings.

At speed, the Durango's cabin is amazingly quiet. Part of this is due to the redesigned A-pillars, which move the door opening higher on the pillar to reduce wind noise. Engineers also redesigned the mirrors to be more aerodynamic, and the mounting point has been lowered, also to reduce wind noise.

All models of the Durango can be had with an optional traction-control system. This low-speed traction system monitors slippage at each wheel and modulates brake actuation to help the vehicle regain traction. The system transfers torque to the wheel with traction and can be deactivated with this dash-mounted button.
