I bought the jeep and didnt get info on size of lift, i have some vibration in front end and it doesnt look like it has a drop pitman arm, im thinking the suspension is by elka as there is a sticker on the dash, fits 33's with no trimming, how can i find how much lift it has? Also how much lift before needing a sye with np 242, what about long travel yokes?

I have a 1988 ford ranger 4x4 with a 2.9l v6. For some odd reason it stopped running. It is no longer getting fire to the distributer or any thing else. Hi, I hope someone has had results in resolving a problem with their 2004 Chevy Silverado SS. Recently, with no notice I lost power steering at engine idle speed. Once I speed up the engine the steering frees up. I have no leaks and the pump fluid is full. The only upgrades I done to the truck are larger tires and wheels. The truck has 35,000 miles on it. Hi, I just wanted to know what the normal EGT temp range is for a 24V cummins engine? I just bought a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT (single cab long box, manual tranny), for peformance parts it has an Edge Juice controller with attitude, K&N filter, and a 4" magniflow exhaust. My EGTs are in the 500-800 level depending on how hard i drive it, on the highway it usually levels out to a high 5 or low 6 hundred degrees. Any info would be great!

I am putting together a rig that is going to have 44" tires and it was suggested to me that I get 5.33 gears installed if I want to utilize the engine's power in the greatest way. I want to make sure that if I get down in a hole or some real soppy mud that I have enough power to the tires to spin them fast enough and with enough power to help me get out. Would 5.33 gears be good for 44" tires and a 393 stroker engine?

Hi Guys. New member here asking a question that probably has an obvious answer. I posted this a fews days ago on the 4x4 truck forum, but after 45+ views, no one has replied. Maybe one or more of you folks will be more venturesome: I have a 2000 7.3L F350 Crew-Cab 4x4 with hubs that lock from inside the cab with the turn of a selector switch. I have a steep concrete driveway, about 25 degrees. The driveway is steep all the way to the garage door, but was intenitonally left as a rough surface for added traction. The truck climbs the driveway easily in 2WD, so long as I'm going forward up the drive. When I need to get something up the hill to the garage, I generally select 4x4 low-range, then back it up the hill, put it in park, set the brake, open the garage and load or unload the truck. Until recently, I've never had a problem with this approach. About a year ago, the right front wheel bearing gave out, so I took it to a dealership for repairs (Ouch!...$750 bucks...) A couple of months ago, I needed to back the truck up the driveway to load some stuff, which I did as described above. The driveway was wet. I first had some difficulty with rear-wheel slippage, which kind of surprised me, as I couldn't remember it ever happening before as long as I hade it in 4x4. After a couple of tries, I just romped on it a bit to get up some speed and made it to the top, where I secured the truck as usual. I loaded the stuff and went in the house. When I came out the next morning, the truck was at the bottom of the driveway with two skid marks from the rear tires. This happened once more, and I was there to watch it happen. The front wheels just rolled down the hill while the rear wheels slid. Surprised the heck out of me, not to mention being dangerous to anyone or anything at the bottom of the drive. At that point, I began to suspect that the hubs weren't engaging when I selected 4x4 low from the cab. Now the questions: Shouldn't the front wheels have been locked up by the hubs, such that putting the tranny in "park" locks them up just like the rear wheels? If that is true, is there anything that might have gone wrong at the dealership when the wheel bearings were replaced? Something that wasn't connected, or was broken, or improperly installed? I haven't needed to use 4x4 since the bearing repair (other than the driveway thing) or I might already have the answer...

hehehehehe :cool: 1996 xr600r, dual sported. Oldie, but goodie, the xr600s is a one of a kind bike. Air cooled, so less stuff to work on and less weight. Power is pretty good, its not in bad condition for a 12 year old bike, and some new (or painted Mad Max style!) plastics and it's a top notch bike. Does need the front shocks rebuilt most likely, no leaks anywhere though. I'll post up a pic later on Best part, it cost 1500 bucks, so its a pretty cheap investment and gets like 40-50 mpg!

im not big on repairing autos... but ive been around the block and my jeep has me puzzled. i have a 06 jeep wrangler x , and all is well.... until i hit 50 mph, then the vibration starts from the front driver side.... when i hit around 57 mph, it smoothes out and the vibration is gone... i have changed the tires, rotors, and brakes... i will get a front end alignment soon, but im not sure thats my only problem. i have yet to take the jeep off road.... and ideas????

Well it's a fear I have EVERY time I go out. Dodge Ramcharger, LOTS of glass in the rear... So well My wonder is where or how can I make it removable. My rear sheet of glass can pop in and out, I'm kinda wanting to do the same for the sides. If i tip it thats ALOT of broken glass in the pits, people will hate me and it will cost me a pretty penny to replace. Also I think it would be pretty cool to open it up. I figure it would be easy to do this then to cut off the back and make it removable, little more safe too. Any help will be thanked.

Okay I have a vaccum actuator, which at best works... some times. So well I forgot where I seen it but I'd like to swap it out for a cable set-up. It's a Np-208 T-case I believe. What is the company name or and idea's on how to set it up so it works 100% of the time, being stuck in mud and waiting for the 4x4 to kick in is not a happy thing.

So basically my main goal is to clear my 37" tires with little or no rubbing. I have a 3" body lift in my truck right now, the 37" boggers are worn and were a gift... so well who cares about rubbing fenders and cutting up the outer edges of the lugs right? Well now the thing is the tires are now getting bald bald (Will be ordering a new set of boggers in the same size, maybe in a 36" if advised to.) Okay onto my question, I have a 1986 Dodge Ramcharger... http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b37/Dksixpackrider/gy.jpg As you can see it's sitting low, the stock suspension is toast, the rear leafs are actually bowed backwards, hah. The truck will mainly be used for mud and some trails. Okay so I'm wondering should I just go with a 4" sus to add to my 3" bod or if I am to go with a 6" sus and take out the 3" bod do you think i'll be faced with the same problems. Ideally I'd leave the 3" and add a 6" but well I think it will be a bit too tall. I know that was pointless, but I just want recomendations on kits. I've heard Procomp is the best for my money for what I want. So that's basically longer leafs, shocks, a T-case drop, new pitman arm? Is there anything special I should know about the current stock sus' set-up? I am not mecanically handicapped, just have never dealt with lifts on the front... I know Rear is easy.
