Our first step was to have Sarka Laser Cutting and Fabrication weld an Auto Meter 1/8-inch pipe plug bung onto the factory diff cover. A small hole is drilled and then the part is MIG-welded into place. We placed the bung in the same relative position as it is on the Mag-Hytec cover-at the top-so we would be reading oil temp the same way on both covers. Mag-Hytec says that placing the sender at the top, where the hottest oil is flung off the ring gear, gives you a truer picture of diff oil temp. View Related Article
