Dana 60 Upgrades - Busting Knuckles
Here is what started it all. This crack had been growing for some time in the upper trunnion area of the righthand steering knuckle. Note the paint flecking off halfway around the casting, indicating the material has been flexing that far and would soon crack completely around. These Ford knuckles are known to crack like this after years of hard use under overloaded work trucks and then being asked to support 40-inch tires over boulders on rock buggies.
