5. The intake ports were match-ported to the manifold. Then both ports were smoothed and radiused where needed. No major changes in shape were made, other than to open the exhaust ports up to approximately the size on the earlier H.O. heads. The exhaust ports were deliberately left smaller than the header tubes to help prevent reversion, where the exhaust gets pulled back into the cylinder through the exhaust valve. View Related Article
