With molded polyurethane spokes taking the place of the traditional tire casing, Michelin's "Tweel" has definite advantages, such as being impervious to sidewall damage and getting flats. Of course, the only rubber part of the "tire" is already as flat as it could possibly get-it's the ultimate low-profile sidewall. Is this something we'll eventually see on 4x4s? Let's hope not, because if the Tweel was made to work on the highway, it wouldn't be very usable on the trail, and vice versa.
