A grooving iron is the fastest removal method, especially on tires with thick rim guards, like the Krawler. It's also about the only way to remove the extra rubber if the tire is still on the wheel, and the rim can then be used as a guide for the cut. Either way, start with a lot shallower cut than what would seem to be the right depth for the blade. You can always make a second, deeper cut if need be. View Related Article
