Featuring componetry that is similar to that of the front axle, the rear 21/2-ton Rockwell also houses a stout hydraulic ram and a full spool outfitted with Ouverson shafts. However, the steering arrangement is further fortified by a home-brew slide-rack setup that helps protect the single-ended ram while maintaining critical steering arm angles throughout the range of motion. A center-mounted wire rope limits droop while a pair of Rancho 5000s dampen the bumps.
