The 2 1/2-ton Rockwell front axle has welded spider gears and it’s fed by a homebuilt driveshaft that sports 1410 U-joints. A pinion-mounted Toyota two-wheel-drive pickup-application caliper and rotor handle braking responsibilities. A four-link setup with 16-inch-travel F-O-A remote-reservoir coilovers and F-O-A hydraulic bumpstops comprise the front suspension. The four-link bars are made from 2-inch-diameter, 0.250-inch-wall DOM material and they’re fitted with 2.5-inch Currie Johnny Joints. Middleton aims the big 54s using a PSC Motorsports hydraulic steering system that includes a double-ended hydraulic ram with spherical rod ends on the endlinks. The hydraulic ram is protected by a custom guard and it has an integrated D-ring so the front end can be drawn down with the winch.
