Both axles under the Chevy are 2 1/2-ton Rockwell units and each has been widened 7 1/2 inches and fitted with a Wilwood caliper on the pinion brake and an Ouverson Engineering & Machine spool and axleshafts. The steering system on each is hydraulic and Racesource components are used. A leaf-spring suspension resides under both ends of the truck. The front suspension (visible in this photo) uses 56-inch-long military-wrap springs sourced from a dump truck. The rear 63-inch-long leaf springs are a mix of springs, including those from a ’99 Chevy truck and a ’91 Chevy truck. A pair of Rancho RS5000 shocks resides at each corner of both axles.
