The Silverado’s propulsion system is a 383ci GM V-8 that came out of Boundy’s Jeep YJ, which wasn’t voted into TTC. The engine has Dart heads, roller rockers, Edelbrock Air-Gap intake, Holley 750cfm carburetor, MSD ignition, and machine work by Jeff McConnell. Boundy estimates that the engine makes 540hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The ’plant is kept cool by a bed-mounted four-core radiator with 12-inch dual electric fans. Exhaust gases are ejected through a dual 2 1/2-inch exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Meeting the trucks electrical requirements is a pair of stock alternators and a trio of Optima YellowTop batteries. One alternator charges the main battery and the other charges the two batteries used for the front and rear winches. A built TH400 transmission sends power to a pair of NP205 T-cases. One T-case (a GM unit) is mounted to the TH400 and the other (a Ford unit) is divorce-mounted.
