Ten questions for Top Truck Challenge 2014 competitor #1 Rob Inglis, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, '96 Dodge Ram 1500Q. Why do you want to compete in TTC?
A. "Because TTC is the baddest event in North America!! I've been building my truck strictly for this event for years!" Q. What event are you most looking forward to?
A. "Probably like most drivers I'm looking foward to the Tank Trap! And why? Because that means my truck is still alive for the last event! And I get to give my truck a lickin' all the way to the top without having to worry about another event!" Q. What event are you not looking forward to?
A. "I'm gonna have to go with the Frame Twister! Because it's early in the event and I'm worried about major carnage in the log trap or bouncing out of bounds 'cause I'm hitting it hard!" Q. Are you making changes to your rig before TTC?
A. "Yes, I have made many changes specifically for TTC and for specific events. I don't wanna give away all my secrets, but I have installed aux steering in case of steering pump failure." Q. Will you and your spotter/co-driver be training for TTC?
A. "Yes we will be doing training such as flopping the truck on purpose to practice self-recovery and communication." Q. If you could go wheeling anywhere in the world, where would that be?
A. "I would go to Russia. Why? Because those guys are crazy over there! According to YouTube." Q. What's playing on your iPod/CD player right now?
A. "Notorious B.I.G, Going Back to Cali." Q What was the last movie you watched?
A. "TTC 2012, replaying the green Willys truck over and over again in the Tank Trap. My hero!" Q. Do you have an aversion to poison oak, earthquakes, or a submerged engine?
A. "Poison oak... nah. Earthquakes, nah, I'm from Canada eh, no earthquakes there! Submerged engines, hell yes, I'm scared of that!" Q. What's one thing people should know about you?
A. "I'm known for breaking my truck catastrophically in style!! Literally every time I drive it! I'm hoping to change that in TTC 2014, finish every event, and hopefully be possibly the youngest TTC champ at 28?"
