Ultimate Adventure 2010: Our Sponsors Rock

Ultimate Adventure is the quintessential four-wheel event, and we're proud to be sponsored by some of the industry's leading manufacturers. The event wouldn't be the same without the behind-the-scenes help and sponsorship we receive from these experts and their trail crews. We extend our appreciation and look forward to many more years of adventure with everyone involved in making this event so great.

Title Sponsor & Official Tire: Goodyear
For the second year running, Goodyear Tire was the title sponsor of the Ultimate Adventure. The motorsports-driven company supplied Wrangler Kevlar MT/R tires for the hearty participants. We really put the Wranglers to the test with extraordinary abuse. We covered almost a thousand miles of every imaginable terrain on Wrangler MT/Rs that ranged in size from 35 to 42 inches. The tires performed exceptionally well on- and off-highway. They provide excellent traction in mud, sand, loose gravel, and slick rocks.

The UA is known for its long highway drives between trails, so we really appreciate a tire that is comfortable on the highway yet provides aggressive off-road traction at destination. Goodyear gets a thumbs-up from everyone involved in the UA.

Official Welder: Hobart Welders
Hobart is a longtime Ultimate Adventure sponsor and an integral part of the repair team. Hobart always has an important role in the UA. If something needs welding, cutting, grinding, or electricity, Hobart is there. This year's Hobart truck was filled with MIG welders, a plasma cutter, grinders, and assorted tools that helped get us through the adventure. Even though UA is a major endeavor and you would think it would take an Army support division to help us out, Hobart and its two-man crew kept us rolling. All the fancy equipment they provided is easy to use and perfect for the garage enthusiast.

Official Winch: Warn Ind.
Warn has been a longtime sponsor of the UA, and we welcome them back with open arms each and every year. Our vehicles ran premium winches like the M8274-50, Powerplant HD, and Endurance 12.0 and a variety of other reliable recovery machines. Ultimate Adventure just wouldn't be the same without Warn, and we all fully appreciate the support. In the weeklong adventure we pulled more cable through Warn winches than most folks do in years of four-wheeling-we really depend on Warn.

Official Polyurethane Supplier: Daystar
Daystar is a valued sponsor of the Ultimate Adventure and has provided participants with a number of quality products, such as "Four Wheeling Is Not a Crime" mud flaps. As highway laws get more stringent, the mudflaps came in handy this year-not a single participant received a fix-it citation for flaps. We think the cool mudflaps helped even when state troopers were circling us like sharks.

Daystar produces everything from suspensions, shocks, coil spacers, and body lifts to interior products and tools for Chevy/GMC, Dodge, Ford, Hummer, Jeep, Kia, Mazda, Nissan, and Toyota. There was something Daystar on just about every vehicle on the Ultimate Adventure.

Official Suspension: BDS Suspension
BDS Suspension is in its second year of sponsoring the Ultimate Adventure, and we hope to see them on the UA for years to come. Glen Hard and Mike Maloney brought years of four-wheel experience and their '97 Jeep TJ fitted with a BDS long-arm suspension. They showed just how well an off-the-shelf, bolt-on suspension can withstand tough wheeling. BDS makes suspensions for almost every 4x4, and its UA vehicle was one of the few to survive the trip with only minor issues.

Official Body Armor: Overkill Engineering
New to Ultimate Adventure this year was Overkill Engineering, the official body armor of the event. Overkill produces high-quality protective armor, bumpers, and a line of Atomic Axles for Jeep, Toyota FJ Cruiser, and a number of other vehicles. Overkill's body armor provides excellent protection for hardcore off-road machines. Our experience with their metal fab products is that they always fit just right. It was awesome having Overkill along on UA, and we look forward to installing their body protection or our next UA rig.

Official Recovery Jack: Hi-Lift Jack
Hi-Lift jacks are one of the most widely used 4x4 accessories, and we were proud to welcome Hi-Lift aboard the Ultimate Adventure as the official recovery jack. Hi-Lift has been around for over 100 years and produces the best recovery tools out there. The Hi-Lift jack was an invaluable part of the Ultimate Adventure, helping out with more repairs than we can remember. The Hi-Lift crew was exceptional too, and we look forward to many years of adventure with them.

Official Recovery Rope: Bubba Rope
New to the Ultimate Adventure this year, Bubba Rope was a natural fit. This recovery snatch rope helped us unstuck vehicles every day of the event. Faron Tidwell from Bubba Rope handed out Bubba Ropes to the invited readers. The rope uses kinetic energy to snatch and unstuck a vehicle. It is constructed with a braided nylon core for lower loads and a braided nylon jacket for higher loads. The rope is also coated with a polymeric base, giving it a protective shell. The coating protects the rope from abrasion, resists UV light, and is waterproof.
