South Carolina: Crawl, Winch and Repeat- Gulches Off-Road Park
The final episode of the 2013 Ultimate Adventure follows the well-worn group of 25 custom 4x4s from the sands of Daytona Beach towards the rain and mud of South Carolina on a 600 mile road trip. Along the Buccaneer Trail they encounter bridges, ferries, and mechanical misfortune. The final day is spent beating on their 4x4s at the Gulches Off Road park, South Carolinas premier (and only) wheeling destination. With trails named Pirates Revenge, Shipreck, Death Valley, and Radical Ravine, it’s easy to see why this is such a killer park.

The last day of Ultimate Adventure was spent at Gulches Off-Road park in Waterloo, South Carolina. The park had seen a fairly large amount of rain in the days prior to our arrival and as a result was having flooding issues because of its close proximity to a nearby river. Fortunately for our well seasoned wheelers, we were able to avoid the flooded areas and carry on with the day for some fun trail action in the hills of South Carolina. The group crawled through some technical rock sections with minimal problems until we found ourselves at the last trail of the day, where we experienced more than a few broken parts as well as extensive winching to get us through the trail.
