Ultimate Adventure 2016 - Day 3 Recap #UA2016Posted in Ultimate Adventure: 2016 on June 24, 2016
After being subjected to 126+ degree temperatures in Death Valley, just about anywhere seems cooler, and camping at over 6,000 feet near June Lake with temps in the mid 70s felt downright cold after what was essentially an extended drive through a pizza oven. Though there had not been a real “trail” tackled in Death Valley, the group covered over 140 miles of dirt roads and several mountain passes that had most guys in Low Range to save transmissions and reduce engine temps. Though some would claim there were back-to-back road days between the drive through Death Valley and group’s destination for Day 3, Yosemite National Park, all of the participants who were actually there would disagree. After a beautiful drive from June Lake, the group entered Yosemite from the East and then drove West to experience the amazing vistas within the park.
There may not have been a whole lot of dirt on today’s installment of Ultimate Adventure, but there will be ample opportunity to make up for it in our next installment, which includes a first for both UA and a legendary off-road trail. Which one? Check in tomorrow and find out!
