Rugged Radios: Official Communications of Ultimate Adventure 2017 – #UA2017

When traveling in a convoy that invariably gets spread out over miles as always happens on the Ultimate Adventure, using a CB to talk to your fellow travelers is not an option. And dialing up your cohorts on your cell phone is inconvenient and potentially dangerous. So having Rugged Radios on hand with its long-range UHF communication radios for yet another year of UA is a huge help for us.

The company offers a massive variety of communication devices, including two- and four-channel intercom systems, crew/driver radio kits, and even fire, emergency, and aviation communication. Rugged Radios are available with dual-band capability, making finding a “clean” channel is easy, and many of them come pre-programmed with more than 40 common channels: Best in the Desert, Weatherman, BFG Relay, and more.

And true to the name, Rugged Radios can take some abuse. We’ve been using them on our trips for years, and they’ve been dropped, sat upon, spilled on, and generally mistreated; yet they still fire up loud and clear.

We’re glad to have them back as our official communications of UA 2017.
