Massive Gallery! Ultimate Adventure 2017Posted in Ultimate Adventure: 2017 on August 28, 2017
Far more goes on behind the scenes of any Ultimate Adventure than what we can cover in the magazine. Fortunately, photos and stories from this year’s Ultimate Adventure are finding their way online, where we can share all of the jokes, packing tips, field fixes, and stunning wheeling photos.
Starting in Phoenix, our group of 20 vehicles endured triple-digit temperatures wheeling at Table Mesa before heading north on backroads to the higher elevation of Crown King. From there it was more dirt as Trent McGee led us north through the Bradshaw Mountains and we traveled down the Senator Highway to Bloody Basin Road and the Agua Fria National Monument. After spending the night in Payson we visited Tonto Natural Bridge State Park before all hell broke loose on Pyeatt Draw. At this point we were only half way done!
After licking our wounds and swapping out broken parts we visited the Cinders in Flagstaff before crossing the Grand Canyon and staying at Jacobs Lake. The next day was all about getting to the most beautiful and remote reaches of the Grand Canyon during an exhausting and dusty 17-hour road day through the remote Arizona Strip.
The grand finale of Ultimate Adventure 2017 took our group to Hurricane, Utah. Sand Hollow OHV Area is the next big thing in rockcrawling, with beautiful views, unbelievable traction, and enough trails and obstacles to keep even the most diehard rockcrawler busy.
