Cummins is the Official Turbo Diesel of Ultimate Adventure 2018 #UA2018

Ultimate Adventure is a torture test, so it is wise to bring every tool and spare part you might possibly need to keep your rig moving. One thing you won’t need though is spark plugs, if you are running a Cummins turbodiesel engine that is. Cummins was new to Ultimate Adventure in 2017, but the Cummins Repower program has a long history with 4-Wheel & Off-Road dating back to past projects like the 5.0L Cummins-powered Off Road Runner and Project Tube Sock, which famously ran under water for 45 minutes. Last year we slung an R2.8 Cummins turbodiesel into our UACJ6D, and this year we are fitting an R2.8 between the framerails of the UA Deange Rover.

While the 6BT and 4BT Cummins engines are legendary, their size and weight make them less than ideal swap candidates into smaller 4x4s. The R2.8 solves those issues and comes with everything necessary to run right out of the box. Just add a battery and diesel fuel and go. The compact R2.8 Cummins turbo diesel makes 161 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of stump-pulling torque, making it a perfect match for Jeeps, Land Cruisers, Range Rovers, and more. With an R2.8 the spark plugs aren’t the only thing you can leave at home. These engines are so reliable they can handle everything Ultimate Adventure can throw at them while sipping fuel and running cool all day long.
