Winter got you down? Can't seem to warm up? Maybe you need to go outside.

Outside? Wouldn't that be counterproductive to warming up? Well, not if you're on the Arctic Cat Z1 Turbo Sno Pro snowmobile. You see, Arctic Cat says this is the world's fastest production snowmobile. If it doesn't warm you up, nothing will.

The heart of the sled is a 1,056cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, electronic fuel-injected, turbocharged, intercooled, two-cylinder powerhouse of an engine that makes 177 horsepower and 121 ft-lb of torque. For comparison, the 2010 Jeep Patriot 2.4L four-cylinder engine makes 158 horsepower and 141 lb-ft of torque, and the vehicle weighs a heckuva lot more than the Z1 Turbo Sno Pro. But that's not all. Arctic Cat says the engine is also one of the quietest out there. You'll appreciate that on those long rides. Other features include handy electric start and ISC Control to eliminate engine braking.

The core of the sled is its ultra-rigid, lightweight, and body-saving Twin Spar chassis. In 2009, the sled received geometry changes to the chassis, coupled with new, more aggressive plastic skis to give the Z1 Turbo its positive, go-anywhere-it's-pointed ride quality while retaining its legendary easy steering. Up front, there's an AWS VII double-wishbone A-arm suspension with Fox Float shocks and sway bar. This system allows for an impressive 91/2 inches of front suspension travel. Out back, there's a Slide-Action frame with coupling blocks, adjustable torsion springs, and Fox Zero Pro rear arm shock. The rear suspension generates a generous 131/2 inches of travel.

Speaking of what's new, for 2010 the sled boasts splined gears on the ACT Diamond Drive for improved durability; inside rail-mounted rear suspension front wheels to increase top speed; and stiffer, wider, and lighter plastic skis. There's also a new sway bar mount to improve transfer and reduce chassis roll while cornering; a revised, lighter seat; open-pattern running boards; and clearcoated bodywork to improve scratch resistance and create a glossier finish. Additionally, the rear tunnel section is brand-new and it has a more durable heat exchanger, new snowflap, and a lower profile LED taillight with improved visibility.

There are a slew of upgrades for the 2010 Z1 Turbo Sno Pro, and the sled's standard features include deluxe instrumentation as well as hand and thumb warmers.

The Z1 Turbo Sno Pro is one of three sleds in the Z1 Turbo line. Arctic Cat says the Sno Pro is suited to hardcore riders who prefer the lighter, more aggressively calibrated Fox Float ski shocks, low windshield, taller 5-inch handlebar riser block, and more aggressive styling.

It could be just what you need to melt away the winter blues.
