A few weeks before we tested the Power Wagon we had a chance to take a Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn dualie on a trip, and it was a luxury. This massive freight train of a truck laughed at our puny load of a Jeep and steel deck trailer all the way to Moab, Utah. The big Cummins 6.7L and Aisin heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission coupled to a crew cab full of cowboy-accented premium leather was our home for the 15-hour direct drive, and the time just blew by. The Cummins diesel is a torque-spewing machine, and of course everyone always asks why the Power Wagon isn’t offered with the Cummins. We took that question to the Ram engineers and got some great answers.
