2016 Chevrolet Silverado, Colorado Red Line Concepts Shown Ahead of SEMAPosted in Vehicle Reviews on October 21, 2015
We’re on the eve of that automotive Bacchanalia known as the SEMA Show, and the publicity machines are in full throttle ahead of the show. Although the event has traditionally been dominated by aftermarket brands, the OEMs have had an increasingly prominent presence over the last two decades, using the show as a preview for dealer-installed and catalog-order performance and appearance accessories. It goes without saying one of the most popular brands among car enthusiasts is Chevrolet. Whether you’re talking classic or late-model, the bowtie brand has something for nearly every taste. To give late-model Silverado and Colorado owners an idea of how they can customize and accessorize their trucks, Chevrolet is showing off the Silverado and Colorado Red Line models featuring the latest in accessories for the two trucks.
Both the Silverado and Colorado feature Enhanced Silver Metallic exterior paint, with gloss black badging with red accents. The trucks also offer Satin Graphite mirror caps and feature GM’s GearOn cargo rings and cross rails. The Colorado features 18-inch wheels with custom red accents, while the Silverado features 22-inch wheels with red accents. Both trucks also feature Chevrolet Performance intake and exhaust kits. While we wouldn’t have minded an supercharged LT4 engine swap into the Silverado (or the Colorado, for that matter!) at least the Red Line models give Chevy truck enthusiasts a starting point for customization.
In addition to the Silverado and Colorado, Chevrolet also showed Red Line editions of the Camaro, Malibu, Trax, and Spark.
