What do you think the most important part of a four-wheel-drive vehicle is? The engine, transmission, transfer case, axles, or tires? Well, when you’re in real trouble, it just might be the tow hooks. Tow hooks (or loops) come in all sizes, shapes, construction, and location; and any or all of those factors can determine a tow hook’s usefulness. If it’s not easy to get to or it’s not easy to connect a tow strap, winch hook, or other rescue device, it’s not much of a tow hook. We took a look at the tow hooks of all the vehicles we have on our 2017 Four Wheeler of the Year test. Which do you think are most effective, and which vehicle do you think they belong to? Check out the gallery of tow hooks below and let us know what you think of the 2017 bumper crop.
