We had barely aired down the tires on the first day of the 2018 Ultimate Adventure when Trent McGee shredded a fan belt on his TJ buggy. By his own admission, he’d spent more time preparing the route for the event than prepping his rig, but it was a bad sign when he ran into issues so early in the trip. When the belt came apart it made an awful noise. Thankfully there was no further damage. With some help from Chris Durham, Trent picked the remaining pieces out of the fan and installed a new belt that he carries with him. Durham always seems to be in the middle of every fix on the UA, and this one was no different. Carrying a spare belt is inexpensive and takes up virtually no space, so there is no reason why you shouldn’t have one in your rig too.
