The Toyota Tacoma was brought to the United States in 1995 and marketed as a compact pickup. Since then, the independent front suspension, options for two and four doors, and general reliability have drawn quite an international following.

At Overland Expo West, we found evidence that Tacoma culture is alive and well. There were so many Tacomas to choose from, we decided to pick our favorites, and let you decide which you like the most.

This is a Tacoma in a relatively unmodified form. The truck is immensely capable, even if the build list only includes new wheels, tires, and suspension.

Add a bumper, roof rack, and a few other goodies to the list, and you can carry even more gear into the backcountry while boasting a reinforced front end of your truck.

The sky is the limit when it comes to rooftop tents, winches, rock sliders, LED lights, bed racks, and lift kits for the Tacoma. This one appears to be quite heavily outfitted.

Enjoy the rest of the terrific Tacomas we found at Overland Expo West in the gallery below.
