New Toyo Open Country A/T 3
More Traction in Wet, Snow, and Dirt!
We can't be the only people in the world that get excited about a new tire. Like a kid on Christmas, we just can't wait to try out the latest offerings from the world's biggest tire manufacturers. While we love new models, revisions of old classics are always welcome. And that's exactly what Toyo has done with the new Open Country A/T 3.
The new Open Country A/T 3 improves on the already impressive A/T 2 in almost every way. Tread design has been advanced and made a touch more aggressive while still retaining the familiar look. In fact, the sidewall and tread design are more reminiscent of the A/T 2 Extreme. Wet braking and handling have been significantly improved, as has snow performance. Speaking of snow performance, the Toyo Open Country A/T 3 is now severe snow rated and carries the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol.
The Open Country A/T 3 will be available in 127 sizes in both P/Euro and LT-metric. Included in that are 28 new sizes, some of which are OE-specific like Ford's "C" load rated 35-inch tire for Raptor. P/Euro-metric sizes carry a 65,000-mile treadwear warranty, while the LT sizes come with a 50,000-mile warranty. In addition, Toyo is offering a 500-mile trial offer of the new A/T 3.
The tires are available beginning now in limited sizes, with the full lineup being available by July. We just mounted up a set of 275/70R18s to our test Ford F-150, and if first impressions are to be believed it's going to be a great tire. The tires are mounted on a set of Dick Cepek wheels and took relatively little weight to get balanced. We have already driven through torrential rain, and we're hopeful for snow in the forecast. Check back in soon for our full test. Now off to hit some dirt!
