2016 Toyota Tacoma Revealed
An Early Look at What’s to come from Toyota at the NAIAS
Toyota has released images of the all-new 2016 Toyota Tacoma before it’s official debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and it’s already generating a pretty good buzz. Suffice it to say that the old Tacoma was more than long in the tooth with a basic architecture that dated back to 2005. The truck was amazing when it first came out and it really didn’t change much beyond that for a whole decade. The design didn’t get bad over time but the wow factor had definitely faded when the “new” styling overstayed its welcome.
There’s nothing worse than an old Taco but a fresh new one with all the fixings and finely sculpted is just what Toyota fans have been after for a long time now. The 2016 Toyota Tacoma is definitely a great looking truck. The front end is similar to the 4Runner but the execution is leaps and bounds better. The grille is much more prominent and bold much like the Tacoma’s bigger brother, the Tundra. We really wish they would have gone with the big bold Toyota lettering across the grille like the TRD Pro trucks.
Out back you’ll notice that the truck looks far more aggressive than the outgoing model and even features the Tacoma name stamped in the tailgate which gives it that modern toughness touch. The 2016 Toyota Tacoma isn’t that far off of what the current model Tacoma is but its significantly more refined and has killer good looks that will hopefully keep this Taco fresh for at least the next decade!
