Ram Rebel X Debuts at SEMA 2015
Ram’s latest Unique Offering
SEMA is packed with the latest and greatest offerings from the automotive industry and the OEs like to showcase their custom rides too. The Ram 1500 Rebel X is Mopar’s latest offering to the off-road world with plenty of upgraded production parts and accessories.
We tested the Ram Rebel earlier this year and were impressed with its capability, the Rebel X looks to improve on that platform with unique features that make this truck stand out on the trail. The body upgrades feature a sport performance hood, Mopar wheel flares all covered in a unique dark copper paint with a matte black graphic and Mopar blue tracer.
To improve the off-road performance of this 1500, Ram put 17-inch beadlock wheels wrapped in 35-inch Toyo tires so you can air down with confidence. The suspension was upgraded to a custom air-system to smooth out the ride. A custom two-piece skid plate was also installed to protect the front end. To give you the grunt you need on the trail, the 5.7L Hemi engine is tuned with a cold-air intake, cat-back exhaust, and an active Ram air duct.
Ram wasn’t satisfied with just that, so they added a few more custom touches. The interesting Rebel grille is painted satin black; a soft fold trifold cover was added to protect cargo and black tubular side steps were installed to ease entry into the truck. With the exterior given the Mopar touch, the interior was also addressed. To match the interior to the exterior prototype Katzkin leather seats with the Rebel X logo were installed with stitching accents on the seats, steering wheel and armrest.
We’re intrigued by the Rebel X and would love to see how well the suspension, factory beadlocks and 35-inch tires work off–road in this good-looking beast.
