Craigslist Find: Custom 1996 Chevy Silverado Sleeper Equipped Tow Rig
No more hotel rooms necessary
While we spend countless hours on the List -- that’s what we call Craigslist around the office -- searching for our next project vehicle, we often come across some very unique vehicles that you don’t see every day. Take for instance this custom 1996 Chevrolet Silverado single cab pickup with a sleeper cabin and tow bed. This definitely isn’t something you see cruising down the street on a regular basis, but it certainly caught our attention.
This one-of-a-kind Chevy started life as a 1996 Silverado 3500 single cab dualie pickup with a V-8 motor, and somewhere along the way, it receive the custom sleeper and flat bed addition, making it a pretty sweet tow rig. The interior of the truck looks to be in good shape for being 20 years old, and a CB radio and trailer brake controller mean you’ll be towing like a professional as soon as you slide onto the plush ’90s-era Chevy drivers seat. With only 98,000 mile on the odometer, this baby is almost broken in and shouldn’t have a problem pulling your rig to the trail.
The bed features a nice smooth, low deck with a gooseneck hitch mounted right in the middle, and the trailer connection cleanly mounted to the side for easy hookup. A front-mounted toolbox means you can store parts, tools, and equipment outside the cab in a secure location.
Now for the best feature: the sleeper. The sleeper packs everything you would need for a comfortable and enjoyable nights rest. With a television, refrigerator, and separate air conditioner/heater unit, it’s almost like you’re at home. The two couches in the sleeper convert to a fullsize bed big enough for two grown adults and a dog.
If we had room for another truck, we would snatch this up, but sadly our space is limited. This Chevy is currently for sale on Craigslist and is located in Chino, California, with an asking price of $16,500. For more info on this custom Silverado, check out craigslist.com.
