2020 Ford Super Duty Boasts Best-in-Class Snow Plow Rating
If you have a 4x4 2020 Ford Super Duty in your driveway and 10 inches of snow covering the roads around your house, you may just own the "ultimate snow machine," according to Ford Motor Company.
Ford's Snow Plow Prep Package for the 2020 Super Duty is highlighted by a maximum 1,400-pound front plow rating (accounting for mounting hardware), which Ford claims is a segment best-in-class for the heaviest snow plow rating. The Prep Package is specific to each configuration and includes an up-rated alternator for heavy electrical loads. Ford's 10-speed heavy-duty TorqShift automatic transmission has a special drive mode that changes throttle mapping and traction control settings to move through snowy and icy conditions.
"Super Duty is a real workhorse in the snow removal industry," said Mike Pruitt, Ford F-Series Super Duty chief engineer. "With our new Snow Plow Prep Package, we're really delivering for folks who clear the way after a big storm. Being able to safely hook up bigger plows means roads, driveways and parking lots are cleared quickly and drivers can move on to the next job."
Also available for the Super Duty is a windshield wiper deicer, heated steering wheel, and heated seats. Optional white or amber LED strobe lights for the XL, XLT, and Lariat trucks are also available.
