Jeep Power and Performance Parts

If you are looking to upgrade your Jeep, it's usually the Jeep power and performance categories you start with. Lockers before looks is our mantra, and we've selected a few top parts from the SEMA show to illustrate that concept. That's not to say the looks aren't important, but these parts are beautiful in their own light. Check out what we've selected for your perusal from this year's cornucopia of offerings.

Strapping a blower on any engine will make it come alive, and the ProCharger unit for the Jeep 3.6L V-6 is no exception. It is a bolt-on to the Gladiator and JL, and is now 50-State legal for the JT. It's said to produce 425 horsepower from the stock engine.

Once known as the Currie Antirock off-road sway bars, the new company is RockJock, and it's come out with these new steel forged arms. Available for front and rear applications, the arms fit existing sway bars as well.

Centerforce has introduced the high inertia flywheel for the JL, along with the dual friction clutch. For all of us manual transmission aficionados, you know that a heavier flywheel makes crawling and wheeling much more pleasurable. The centrifugal weight design of the Centerforce clutch provides optimum clamping force as engine rpm increases.

If you can't stay in your seat, you can't control your Jeep. The new Recaro Cross Sportster ORV is designed for off- road vehicles that are street legal. The low side bolsters allow for easy access but give you a snug fit that stabilizes side forces. Special foam helps dampen vibration while giving firm support.

Loose, sloppy, and worn out control arm bushings do not enhance Jeep performance. These D2 bushings from Rancho are self-centering and self-lubricating, and on the outside resemble a factory bushing. The inner sleeve is full-floating and rotates within the bushing, and features two different durometer polyurethane compounds for flex and stability.

Advance Adapters now offers the QuickDraw bellhousing adapter for the Jeep 3.6L V-6 engine. This allows the beefy Tremac TR-4050 five-speed overdrive transmission to replace the weak NSG-370 six-speed tranny that came with way too many Wranglers. This tranny also features a 6.16 first gear for even better performance than the 4.14 on the weaker six-speed.

Ever have your tie rod and endlink jam nuts back off your Jeep's rod ends? Now your steering and suspension woes can be alleviated with the new conical locking collars from RockJock, dubbed the RockNut. This cool cutaway shows how the clamping force is concentrated on the taper itself rather than just the tube as in a regular jam nut.

Edelbrock pumps up the performance with its supercharger for the 2012-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK with the 3.6L Pentastar V-6 engine. With a bolt on installation, the design even allows access to the OE oil filter without taking the system apart. With an advertised 40 percent power gain, this could be a game changer for your Wrangler.
