Burnouts, Dunes, Hillclimbs for our 11 New 2020 Pickup Trucks and SUVs: Day 5

Recap of the Four Wheeler Pickup Truck and SUV of the Year 2020 test

The final day of the Four Wheeler Pickup Truck and SUV of the Year 2020 test is where we gathered some of our most valuable highway data. The half-day trek back into the city gave us insight into each vehicle's fuel economy as we logged miles on the highway and in stop-and-go traffic. Sadly, testing concluded that night, but now is your chance to catch up on the burnouts, dunes, and hillclimbs from the week with a video from each day.

Our test started with articulation testing on the RTI (ramp travel index) ramp before moving on to the track for acceleration and braking measurements. Over the next three days, we navigated rocky trails, water crossings, sand dunes, snowy trails, and a slippery, rutted hillclimb, all while gathering data on the 2020 pickup trucks and SUVs.

The Pickup Trucks and SUVs
We tested three 2020 SUVs (Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, eTorque V-6; Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, EcoDiesel; Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE P3600) and eight 2020 pickup trucks (Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, Ram 1500 Rebel turbodiesel, Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ 3.0L Duramax, Chevy Silverado 2500 HD LTZ 6.6L Duramax, Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Custom 6.6L gas, GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 3.0L Duramax, GMC Sierra 2500 HD AT4 6.6L Duramax, GMC Sierra 3500 HD Denali Dualie 6.6L Duramax), observing how each managed the various types of terrain thrown at them throughout the week.
