Ford Super Duty Tremor vs. Ram Power Wagon
Does the factory-installed Warn winch pull Ford's heavy-duty ahead of Ram?
We know Ford's 2020 Super Duty F-Series is already receiving improved off-road chops with the company's optional Tremor package, but now we know the truck is also getting a Warn 12,000-pound winch.
More Tremor Coverage:
We'll sing the virtues of the factory winch option later, however, this step by Ford places the F-Series Super Duty Tremor nose to nose with Ram's Power Wagon. In fact, when we compare what we know about the two trucks, it's up for debate which would step ahead in an off-road shootout.

Four Wheeler's Thoughts
Ford must've been listening when we whispered to the folks at Ram "put 35s on this thing," because the 2020 Tremor package brings with it 35-inch Goodyear DuraTracs—the largest tires fitted to a heavy-duty pickup. The 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor gives more ground clearance than is afforded by the Power Wagon but falls a couple degrees behind the PW in the approach/departure angle departments. The Tremor's selectable electronic rear locker is a big help off-road, and we wish more manufacturers offered this feature, but the Power Wagon's pair of selectable lockers still appears (at least at this point) to make more opportunity for traction. The Tremor's engine choices (6.7L diesel or 7.3L gas) separate it from the Power Wagon as does the TorqShift 10-speed automatic slushbox (PW gives you eight cogs), however, absent in the Tremor is the manual transfer case shifter (think: Ford's Ranger has a knob).
Why Buy a Super Duty Tremor?
If you buy a new Ford truck and plan to take it off-road, chances are, you'll add aftermarket wheels and tires in a hurry, and lift the truck somewhere along that line. With the Super Duty Tremor package, that's all done as 35-inch tires, 18-inch wheels, and a 2-inch lift are built into the machine as it sits in the showroom floor.
Why Else Do You Want A Tremor?
Skidplates, recognizable from Ford's FX4 package, grace the 2020 Tremor, alongside an electronic selectable rear locker, a front limited-slip differential, and retractable running boards. Also, Ford's off-road cruise control—Trail Control, finds a home amongst the array of cabin technology.
Tremor Numbers To Shake You
Ford's F-Series Super Duty Tremor lineup maxes out its conventional towing at 15,000 pounds, with the 6.7L Power Stroke V-8 diesel/gooseneck setup raising that figure to 21,900 pounds. The 7.3L gasser option also brings a payload capacity of 4,210 pounds.
About the Warn Winch
You can take a 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor off the dealer lot with a Ford Performance Parts 12,000-pound winch by Warn integrated behind the front bumper. Engineers took into consideration crash safety, airflow, and clearance so all you have to worry about is the $3,000 price tag and learning the ins and outs of the winch's wireless remote (wired remote is optional).
