Sneak Peek: Four Wheeler Magazine’s October 2020 Cover Spotlights This Legit Cummins 6BT-Powered 1994 Ford F-250!
Here’s an early look at Four Wheeler magazine’s October 2020 cover that hits newsstands August 21.
The October 2020 issue of Four Wheeler is a "Full-Size 4x4 Special" and it's an honor to feature Matt Swithenbank's big, unique and mega-functional Cummins 6BT 1994 Ford F-250 on the cover!
Six-Year Build And Counting
Matt originally purchased his 1994 Ford F-250 to tow his race truck, but it wasn't long before he was wheeling—and breaking—the big Ford. This wasn't a problem for Matt, though; he's apparently a very orderly and mechanically inclined individual. Soon, the truck's Power Stroke turbodiesel and the stock transmission were removed, replaced by a Cummins 6BT turbodiesel and ZF five-speed manual transmission. That was just the tip of the modification iceberg, however. Over the next few years, the truck was fitted with a locked solid front axle, 4.88 gears, custom coilover suspension, 40-inch tires, and a trick custom tube bed, among many other things.
Anatomy Of The Photo
When Four Wheeler staff editor Jered Korfhage saw and heard Matt's big Ford, he knew it was special and deserved a closer look. Jered asked Matt if he'd be willing to show off what his truck could do on some rocks so he could nail some photos. Matt easily piloted his rig over some rocky terrain for Jered's camera, and Jered nailed the shot showing the big Ford in its element.
But Wait, There's More!
The Four Wheeler October 2020 cover also includes a photo of the hot new 2020 Nissan Titan XD, James Mallios' incredible overland-ready Ram 3500, a frosty 2020 GMC Sierra AT4, a diesel Ram in Baja, and a Ford Raptor. All of these photos are part of great stories in the magazine. Plus, there's a photo of a brake upgrade that reflects a story about the Top 10 Jeep Gladiator parts from SEMA as chosen by us.
