Rare Diesel Jeep M-679 Ambulance For Sale In Florida

Act now before this rare oil-burning Jeep van-bulance is snatched up.

We found a rare Jeep M679 ambulance for sale in the Jacksonville, Florida, area, and it could be yours! As described by the seller, the Jeep van comes with its Cerlist two-stroke, three-cylinder diesel (which turns over but does not run), Power Lock axles, and not much else.

The M679 is a variation of Jeep's FC-170, built for the United States Marine Corps as dictated by a 1964 contract. Behind the engine sat a three-speed T-90A transmission and a Spicer 18 transfer case, and power flowed to a Spicer 44 front axle and a rear Spicer 53.

Interestingly, the grille has six slots. The larger slot housed a blackout headlamp used when the vehicle traveled in stealth convoys. Between 600 and 700 of these were originally produced, and there are rumored to be around 50 left floating around all corners of the globe. From what we can tell, the interior needs some updating and the body is largely free of damage, and after you get the diesel-burner running, you'll be well on the way to a forward-control Jeep project.
