Would You Drive a 4BT-Powered Overland Jeep Through Africa?
Jen Usinger and Jared Simpson did, and this is their horse and covered wagon.
Need some inspiration for your diesel-powered overland Jeep build? This 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited started off like all the rest but was taken to the next level with the help of Bruiser Conversions. Jen Usinger and Jared Simpson went on to further customize the Jeep, hook it up to a Conqueror UEV-440 trailer, and use the combo to live off the grid in Africa. Keep reading for more on this transcontinental overland setup.

Diesel Engine in an Overland Jeep
The 3.9L Cummins 4BT adds a bit more horsepower and a healthy dose of torque to the equation, which is more than enough to tote the Conqueror trailer.
Axles and Suspension
Dana Ultimate 60 axles live under the front and back of the overland Jeep build and are both filled with 4.88:1 gears and an Eaton ELocker for traction. Synergy springs give the Jeep 4 inches of lift while Fox 2.0 shocks live at each corner to handle the bumps.
Bumper and Winch
The Pronghorn Alpha All Terrain C7 Jeep Wrangler JK aluminum front bumper serves as the mounting point for the Warn 9,500-pound XP-S winch and JW Speaker foglights.
Conqueror UEV-440 Overland Trailer
Before all its features are deployed, the Conqueror UEV-440 overland trailer is a sleek and capable unit capable of following the Jeep through uneven terrain.

2019 Overland Adventure
