Is This The New 2021 Ford Bronco?
Rendering could show the face of Ford's new off-roader
Could this be the new 2021 Ford Bronco? So far, the Bronco has only been revealed in profile beneath a dirty sheet. We've also had a look at the official iconography—BRONCO alongside a stylized bucking, you guessed it, bronco.
The 3D model depicts the 2021 Ford Bronco with a hardtop, removable doors, and frontend hopefully familiar to Bronco fans.
Other sources have given us a look at what could be the Bronco's circular production LED headlamps. The design draws upon the first-gen iconic round headlight style.
Ford has reported to its dealers that the Bronco line will spin off into a family of vehicles made of a "Baby Bronco," a smaller-wheelbase and crossover-esque model as well as a larger compact unibody pickup. Dealers were also told that the 2021 Bronco would arrive in showrooms in late 2020.
Off-road enthusiasts have long been dreaming of what the new Bronco could be and maintain high hopes that it will be a Wrangler competitor. We were teased before the 2019 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Ford debuted the Bronco R, its off-road racing prototype, which served as testbed for possible production parts as well as giving us a few hints as to what we can expect in the new Bronco. The racer had a sleek body style, body-on-frame construction, and a V-6 under its hood. We hope the engine to be the 2.7L EcoBoost V-6 or the 2.3L EcoBoost I-4. We aren't optimistic about the possibility of rowing through the gears in a new Bronco, however, we expect to see Ford's impressive 10-speed auto.
Will it be the solid-axle off-roader Jeep fans will sell their flatfenders for? We can't say yet, but we do know the 2021 Bronco will be trail-ready and awaited by many.
