Kenda Launches New Klever AT2 Tire at 2019 SEMA

Kenda Tire is back with a new all-terrain light truck tire. The Klever AT2 KR628 was launched at the 2019 SEMA show in Las Vegas. The launch event was held at an off-site venue called Speed Vegas several miles south of the city. The 100-acre $30 million venue features a road course with exotic cars as well as an off-road race course, perfect for putting the Klever AT2 through its paces.

The Klever AT2 KR628 was designed at Kenda's Akron, Ohio, technical center. Dozens of hours went into the development of the tire to get the compound and tread pattern correct. The tire offers an exceptional ride and comfort level both on and off-road. The tire has an aggressive style and tread pattern for off-roading. The tread is designed with interlocking blocks that help gain traction in the dirt. The compound is durable enough to withstand the elements of off-roading. The upper sidewall is designed to protect against cuts, tears, and abrasion. In addition to the off-road features of the tire, the Klever AT2 has an all-weather compound with a high-sipe density for snow and icy conditions. The tire has gained the Peak Mountain Snowflake certification (3PMSF).

"Part of our job as a tire manufacturer is to address the needs of the market and build upon the feedback we receive, not only from our retail and distributor partners, but from consumers as well," said Brandon Stotsenburg, Kenda Vice President of Automotive Sales. "Our 2nd generation of Kenda products are providing outstanding performance to achieve the benefit package that the consumer requires."

After a technical presentation, attendees had the opportunity to test the tire on both off-road and on-road conditions driving Jeeps on the Speed Vegas property. The Klever AT2 KR628 will be available in 40 different sizes with additional sizes available as consumer and industry demands prompt.
