Nissan Builds Ultimate Parks Titan For National Park Foundation
Third Charity Build Follows Ultimate Service Titan and Ultimate Work Titan
Following its budget-oriented Destination Frontier build, Nissan will debut the Ultimate Parks Titan this weekend at Overland Expo West. As the third vehicle built for the company's charity partners, the Nissan Ultimate Parks Titan is custom-built for the National Park Foundation—following the Ultimate Service Titan for the American Red Cross and the Ultimate Work Titan for Habitat for Humanity.
The Ultimate Parks Titan is ultimately headed for Grand Canyon National Park, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. After it is shown at Overland Expo West and other events this year, Nissan will donate the truck to the Grand Canyon Conservancy's Canyon Field School, which is a partnership between that organization and the National Park Service.
Equipped for a Tough Environment
In preparation for its new life, Nissan took the 2019 Titan XD Pro-4X powered by a 5.6L gasoline V-8 and extended the fully boxed frame to make room for a CM Truck Beds service body, a 55-gallon fuel tank, and a RotopaX fuel cell, as well as a CargoGlide sliding bed tray and an array of locking compartments and tie-downs. Up above the service body, there's a Leitner Designs bed rack, a Rhino Rack Pioneer cargo tray, CVT hard-shelled tent, and a Rhino Rack Batwing awning. The truck also tows a Black Series Camper off-road trailer for even more storage and rest space.
Under the truck lies an ICON 3-inch suspension lift kit with Hellwig air-support bits. In addition, AMP Research provided BedSteps and PowerSteps to aid access to the cabin and cargo box. That box also carries an air compressor, a generator, and a Miller EnPak welder, and an Addictive Desert Designs HoneyBadger front bumper carries a Warn ZEON Platinum 12-S winch.
The truck and trailer are both wrapped in a design featuring a topographical representation of the north rim of the Grand Canyon, incorporating the blue color palette representative of the National Park Foundation.
Ultimate Charity Work
"The Ultimate Parks TITAN is a physical manifestation of the support Nissan is providing to parks and park champions coast to coast," said Will Shafroth, president of the National Park Foundation. "From the Grand Canyon, to the Great Smokies, to Glacier Bay in Alaska, Nissan's support bolsters the critical work of local partners connecting youth to parks and service corps helping to restore these treasured places. "
Nissan created the Ultimate Parks Titan, Ultimate Work Titan, and Ultimate Service Titan to support its signature charity partners. Built partially to promote the company's "Calling All Titans" campaign, the three trucks build awareness for the National Park Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and the American Red Cross. Through "Calling All Titans," Nissan wants to motivate members of the public (especially Titan owners) to give back in their own ways.
The Ultimate Parks Titan will be on display at this year's Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona, just a few miles from Grand Canyon National Park.
