The 53rd Annual Sierra Trek Is a Go for 2020!
The West’s premier off-road venue will rock the Gold Country August 6–9.
It's official: The 2020 Sierra Trek is a go for August 6 -9!
Sierra Trek is one of California's most iconic OHV events, and its history encompasses more than five decades. It began in 1967 as a weekend Jeep trip/BBQ and has grown since then to include a dozen guided four-wheel-drive and ATV/UTV trips ranging from historic tours through the Gold Country to a run on the iconic Fordyce Creek Trail.
The 2020 event marks Sierra Trek's 53rd anniversary, and after months of sheltering in place organizers are pulling out all the stops. The event's motto is, "Come for the trails; stay for the party."
In what has become an annual happening, volunteer clubs reconstruct Summit City, an 1860s mining camp, replete with the Wild West saloon, chuck wagon-style kitchen, dance hall, and two nights of live music. More contemporary attractions include a manufacturer midway with dozens of vendors, a vehicle show, RC races, and kids' games. But wait, there's more! The event's basecamp is located on the alpine shores of Meadow Lake, and when participants are not on a trail ride, they can explore its shores in a canoe, cast a trout line, or soak in the sun.
When the sun goes down and the band takes the stage, trekkers belly up to the saloon's old wooded bar, share yarns around the bonfire, and kick up their heels on the dance floor. On Saturday night, the raffle will be handing out more than $30,000 in gear from BFGoodrich, 4Wheel Parts, ARB, Raceline Wheels, Warn, and dozens of other vendors. The event takes place near Truckee, California, on August 6 -9, 2020. Registration includes most meals, all trail rides, and all activities. For information go to: https://cal4wheel.com/sierra-trek
